Job Summary:
The Placement Officer at the Training Center plays a pivotal role in connecting trainees with relevant employment opportunities upon completing their training programs playing a crucial role in facilitating the transition of trainees into the workforce. This role involves establishing partnerships with potential employers, coordinating placement activities, providing career guidance, and ensuring successful job placements for trainees. The Placement Officer is instrumental in helping trainees launch their careers in alignment with their acquired skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Employer Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with local employers, businesses, and organizations across various industries.
- Collaborate with employers to understand their workforce needs and job requirements.
- Develop and maintain a database of employer contacts and job openings.
Trainee Career Development:
- Offer comprehensive career counselling, resume building, interview preparation, and job search support to trainees.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance trainees’ employability skills.
- Assist trainees in identifying their strengths, interests, and career goals.
Job Placement Services:
- Facilitate job placements and internships for trainees.
- Coordinate job fairs, recruitment drives, and networking events to connect trainees with potential employers.
- Match trainees with suitable job openings based on their training and skills.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of trainee placements, internship opportunities, and employment outcomes.
- Generate regular reports on placement statistics and trends for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant documentation and reporting requirements.
Industry Research and Partnerships:
- Stay updated on industry trends, labor market conditions, and employer expectations.
- Collaborate with industry partners to align training programs with current industry needs.
- Seek out emerging job sectors and opportunities for trainees.
Alumni Engagement:
- Engage with program alumni to leverage their experiences and connections in supporting current trainees’ career goals.
- Organize alumni networking events and mentoring programs.
Communication and Outreach:
- Promote placement services and training programs through various marketing channels, including social media, websites, newsletters, and community outreach.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from trainees, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the training centre’s marketing and communication team to enhance visibility.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
- Gather feedback from trainees, employers, and stakeholders to assess and enhance placement processes and services.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of career development and training programs and recommend improvements.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience in career counseling, student services, or human resources, especially in a training center or vocational education setting is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of job search strategies.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
